New Exoplanets Discovered

Thirty two new planets were recently discovered in an observatory in Europe. They were located by a machine called the High Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher, also known as HARPS. The machine can spot planet movement as slow as 2.1 miles per hour. With the recent discovery of the new planets, the tally of exoplanets found by the HARPS is 75 out of 400 known planets. This machine has succeeded far beyond the creators expectations. It is ideal for discovering new exoplanets. I believe that this machine can help scientists tremendously. By finding new planets, there is a possibility being able to communicate with other living creatures on other planets. By doing so we can find out so much more about our galaxy and the science aspect of it. Also, we could discover new technology that they might have on their planet. Or maybe instead of communicating with other creatures, another planet out of our galaxy could have a resource that is needed or could improve or lives tremendously. For example, there is a possibility that we could run low on water supply in the future and an exoplanet could have an endless supply of water. This is a machine that is of great importance and can really impact society.
